The Farm Stop model has transformed many communities' access to local food. Over the past twelve years, Argus Farm Stop has grown to three locations in Ann Arbor, with an online business and a weekly produce box. We have returned over $30 million directly back to Michigan local farms and food producers. With growing interest in the farm stop model, we are excited to share our knowledge and connect with other local food advocates! We need innovative models to connect consumers to locally farmed goods!

We offer several course offerings to share information on how to open and operate a farm stop:

  • Welcome to Argus Farm Stop

    • Held the last Tuesday of each month, this free webinar covers how and why Argus Farm Stop was founded and why the farm stop model is unique.

  • How to Start a Farm Stop

    • Interested in what it really takes to open a Farm Stop in your community? Spend three days learning from Argus managers!

  • Merchandising

    • In this course, learn traditional tools for merchandising, with tried-and-true techniques tailored specifically for selling local food in a consignment model local grocery store.

  • Online Operations

    • Learn how we manage a robust online marketplace for local food

  • Shadow at Argus Farm Stop

    • In this one day, in-person training, learn the overview of Argus Farm Stop’s successful systems for managing direct relationships with local producers within a consignment model local food grocery store.

  • Farm Stop Conference

    • The fourth annual National Farm Stop Conference will be held in Ann Arbor March 30-31, 2027
